Trip by Nile

In 48 BC, Cleopatra was in love with Julius Caesar, and since the Roman was in Egypt at that time, the couple decided to make a cruise sailing the river Nile to the south. They travelled with the thalamegos, a large ship of the Ptolemaic kings and queens. Cleopatra was pregnant, she was probably in her second month. The Kom Ombo temple is visible in the background.
